2006-FEB-13: Monday

Now this blog is getting updated OPML/Dave Winer style. I finally got the hang of using the OPML editor and I have to admit that it’s pretty slick. It’d be nice if it worked with LiveJournal, but I have the idea that LiveJournal doesn’t really care much about their interfaces – I had nothing but problems trying to get LiveJournal to work with Ecto.

Things finally worked out with Ecto, but not after a lot of trouble.

I’m trying to decide which site is going to get the bulk of my writings. Here, the OPML site, or the LiveJournal site. I’m starting to lean toward the OPML site. But, most of my writings to date have been over on the LiveJournal

WordPress.root doesn’t seem to do multiple categories per post which makes outline-style problem kind of a problem — Actually it does, there’s just no indication in the UI that it does.

Other WordPressMU

I’ve been looking around ant other WordPressMU sites and noticed that Blogsome would let you set your own header image.

I think I’m going to move here from livejournal if it works out. Does anyone know how to import entries from another blogging service?

Update:  Pasting them in seems to work well enough, but there’s got to be a better way.  It’d be nice to just suck in an RSS feed.

A Theory

It’s not a law, it’s a theory. So like evolution, the mechanism itself remains a mystery. But the theory is the basis for all relevant discourse about the net. The name of the theory is John Gabriel’s Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory.
